Secrets Exposed

Posted on by Mannequin Republic

Heavy music review site Get Exposed Music recently added to the growing list of glowing reviews for the new A Breach Of Silence project Secrets, claiming the band’s third full length release to be their best yet.

Praising the new vocal stylings on the record, the review puts this project as the most accessible recording the band has done, “combining the best of both the heavy and melodic” and making special note of tracks “Fair Weather Friends” and “Sugar and Spice.”

It’s a short, but sweet review and you can read the full piece for yourself right now by going to

Sneaky Breach On Channel 7

Posted on by Mannequin Republic

On a recent edition of 7 News Sydney, local anchors interviewed the owner and manager of popular Sydney venue The Bald Faced Stag, a frequent stop on tours to New South Wales by Mannequin Republic bands.

The piece discusses the bold move by The Bald Faced Stag to chuck out all the pokies and become a pub focused predominantly on live music, an idea which we here at Mannequin Republic completely get behind.

Making a surprise cameo in the interview is a poster for our very own A Breach Of Silence, which can be seen frequently throughout the segment.  Our thanks to Channel 7 News in Sydney for the shout out!

In all seriousness, this is a great look at a genuine issue in Australia and we applaud the amazing team at The Bald Faced Stag for making the move and Channel 7 for covering it.  We hope it will … more...

Secrets Goes To Metal Temple

Posted on by Mannequin Republic

Another review off the press rounds for Brisbane based powercore outfit A Breach Of Silence as their album Secrets continues to get covered from the biggest to the smallest names in the underground heavy music scene.

This time, old school metal news and reviews website Metal Temple takes a sprawling and well intentioned look at the new album, in a piece put together by writer Devin C. Baker.

The article spends a lot of time dissecting the origin and wavering definition of “powercore”, as well as a peak into A Breach Of Silence’s past before moving on to their current new project.  Praising the band’s musicianship, songwriting and production values the reviewer tends to get hung up on whether the album fits the genre much more than how much he actually enjoyed it.

We here at Mannequin Republic would like to thank Devin for covering the new Secrets album for … more...

Blair Returns To Fearcast

Posted on by Mannequin Republic

One of the best places to hear genuine interviews in the emerging music scene in Canadian based podcast Fearcast and recently A Breach Of Silence bassist and vocalist Blair Layt made his return to the program with another epic hour long interview.

Show host Fear Innes and Blair had a good long chat about heaps of crazy topics, as well as excellent insight into the new album Secrets and A Breach Of Silence in general.

Blair takes us into the writing process and inspiration behind much of the new A Breach Of Silence album, being stubborn when writing, covering the Weeknd and how to judge success as a band.

A good portion of the show is spent ripping on Canadians, Australians, Americans and New Zealanders, plus Dire Straits stories, Canadian hockey memes and bears hiding under toilet seats.
