A belated obituary to our good friend and brother Glen Barrie, guitarist for As Paradise Falls, who passed away on November 9, 2015.

Glen was with the band at Karma Studios in Thailand working on their first full length album, which the whole band was very excited about and having a blast recording.  After a day in the studio, Glen went to bed and unfortunately did not wake up again.  He leaves behind his family and new wife Cassie, who is pregnant with their first child.

Mannequin Republic and all the bands on our roster would like to extend our deepest condolences to Glen’s family.  He was truly a top bloke and always a lot of fun to be around.  Music was a big part of his life and in turn he was a big part of ours.

We would also like to thank everyone in the local music scene … more...

Following the sudden loss of our good mate and guitarist for As Paradise Falls, Glen Barrie, Mannequin Republic along with our entire roster and our many supportive friends in the local music scene have put together a benefit show to honour Glen and raise some funds for his wife and child.

Headlining the event will be Glen’s band As Paradise Falls, who will be returning to the stage far sooner than expected after their loss.  We are also so proud to have our entire roster coming out to play for Glen’s family, including A Breach Of Silence, Trinatyde, Bayharbour and Down Royale, plus special guests Among The Vanished.

This gig is being held at The Brightside (27 Warner Street) in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, where Glen and As Paradise Falls have had some of their most impressive shows.  Doors open at 7:00 pm and tickets are $15 at the door.
