Tom Byrnes Hits The Road With The Big Boys

Mannequin Republic’s managing director, Tom Byrnes, has again been invited to participate behind the scenes at this year’s Soundwave Festival.  The 2012 line-up has turned some heads with the likes of Limp Bizkit, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, System Of A Down and A Day To Remember amongst the headliners.

Also on the card are Bad Religion and Tom’s ex-boss Mr. Brett Gurewitz and Tom will no doubt have his hands full chaperoning the masters of punk as they make their way to Melbourne for the big show.

Tom will pack his bags and do it all over again as he joins New Found Glory on their Australian national tour with Taking Back Sunday.  Drunken binges, petting zoos and petty gossip are sure to flow, so stay tuned to mannequinrepublic.com.au for updates of the tour.

Tyrants Go Up The Sunny Coast

One of Brisbane’s more popular metal and hardcore acts, Tyrants!, are playing a special show on the Sunshine Coast next month, so consider this an early warning.

It’s happening on Saturday, March 3, and this gig is going to go off huge, with Tyrants! headlining and opening with the likes of Mayfair, Mannequin Republic’s own Trinatyde, Ignite The Chamber, Place Your Bets and We, The Relentless.

This is another Rikochetz Events production at QCWA Hall (10 Short Street, Nambour).  Entry is $10 and as usual it is all ages, so no matter how old you are you can bring your moshing buddies for an awesome Saturday night out.  For more information, click here.… more...

Heads&Tails Up For Double Release

Mannequin Republic is pleased to announce that not one, but two of our current bands are going to be part of a special double album release.  Our good friends and international recording distribution channel, Heads&Tails Records, have put together a great joint venture featuring the present and future of Mannequin Republic.

This special release double album features the original E.P. material of Brisbane’s post-hardcore shooting stars, Road To Ransome and young hardcore upstarts Gathered Below, together in one awesome package.

The album is scheduled for distribution on March 4, so start saving your spare change so you can pick it up.  More details are coming soon, so stay tuned to mannequinrepublic.com.au so you don’t miss out.

West Comes East

After the successful national tour from our own Western bad-boys, Afraid Of Heights, it’s not surprising that the buzz is strong for more Perth bands to make their way out East.

Mannequin Republic heard your cries and are now pleased to announce that another awesome hardcore outfit from Perth are making their way to Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast so you fanatics can get your fill.

Come hear I Am Eternal, a five-piece band that gives you head-banging melodic death metal melodies that will make you want to mosh.  The band has already played with some of the bigger American independent acts that have made their way to Australia, including All Shall Perish, Winds of Plague and Oh, Sleeper.  See what they have to offer on Facebook.

The Truth Comes Out

Mannequin Republic is pleased to announce that we are now in an official partnership with Sydney based management and promotion company Truth Agency.

Many of you fanatics may have noticed Truth Agency bands pop up around local Brisbane shows, including We Built Atlantis, Alice Vs Everything and The Cavalcade, who will be appearing for Mannequin Republic and Warrant Promotions at The Tempo Hotel on Sunday March 25.

Our managing director, Tom Byrnes, will be taking on a helping role with Truth Agency in bringing more New South Wales bands to Brisbane for live shows and helping the bands develop for bigger spots in the Queensland market.

Truth Agency director Sy Robertson will also be more engaged on booking Mannequin Republic bands in New South Wales, specifically Road To Ransome and Afraid of Heights from Perth.
